There is no minimum age requirement to take California Hunter Education. Parents should enroll children in Hunter Education when the are showing an interest in going hunting with family or the parents are considering taking children on a hunting trip.SEATING IS LIMITED. PLEASE CALL IF YOU CANNOT MAKE A COURSE OR NEED TO RESCHEDULE SO SOMEONE ELSE MAY HAVE YOUR SEAT!   DUE TO THE HIGH COST OF CREDIT CARD PROCESSING, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS!    Failure to reschedule at least 48 hours prior to the course date will result in a loss of rescheduling privileges.

  • Course will be held at the American Legion, 1404 N. Grand Ave. Santa Ana, CA 92701
  • 45 minute lunch break, sack lunch recommended
  • Parking is located in the rear of the building. The gate opens at 7:30 AM. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK GATE!!!

Excellent Introduction Hunter Training Program January 29, 2012

This was my first introduction to hunting, and I would recommend this program to anyone interested in hunting.

I began researching hunting in California on my own, and found the experience extremely difficult to gain clear and digestible information; Richard not only made the information easy to find and understand, but went beyond to help me learn about where, when, what, and the abundance of game in California.

I now have the knowledge to be a safe, effective, and responsible hunter, and the entire classroom experience was extremely fun and engaging.

I've already signed up for my next 3 courses.

My Son and I took the California Hunter Education class. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs the class to get their hunting license or even if you just want to brush up on hunter safety. It wasn't boring at all. Richard kept my son's attention the entire day which is no easy task. Time went by fast. He did a great job, going through the material and the information that you need to pass the test.

Very informative, covered all the important subjects.   Knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time, didn't seem like 10 hours. Highly recommend Richards class, will be doing more.

This was a really great class! I was worried about my city girl wife getting bored and / or just not enjoying the class... I shouldn't have worried. Richard did a great job, through the day he gave you all the information that you will need to pass the test at the end of the day. Plus he told stories from his own hunting past which kept your interest. Although my wife wants to know if the guy that had the bobcat hanging on to his leg walks with a limp now days.
Good job Richard, we will be back.

Class was fun and there were more women than I expected. I highly recommend this course, especially for those that don't understand what hunting is all about. The part about hunter ethics and wildlife conservation is very informative.
